Okay, it's set. Friday at 7:45, at the Hospitality room in the Courtyard Hotel. Pick up your breakfast at the Courtyard Cafe first and bring it to the room. (Sorry to say, it won't be quite as cheap as breakfast at your local Mel's Diner, but we can't perform miracles, LOL!)0
-
not having a map of the area can you tell me where the Courtyard Hotel is in relation to the Wyndhm? TY0
-
that's great Jon, that also helps me with driving in from Baltimore (should get on 15, no north to 30, go east 100' or so, and turn in on Gateway)
TY

Yes, definitely a big THANKS for that layout Jon. I had it pretty much in my mind that I'd be coming off I-81 to U S 30 and crossing 15 to the motel. But this makes it much better.

Actually, the thanks belong to our moderator Rick!0
-
I am not at my best that early in the morning, Jon - but I will try to make it. Good to see the fine tradition continues along.
Just an FYI...there are LOTS of great places to eat in Gettysburg that will not break the wallet. Folks should enjoy all the options available. I have visited there many times, usually on a tight budget and still had great meals. If the Friendly's is still there [like the Big Boy chain]. They have good stuff and there are other nice 'mom & pop' type places all around...

I'm in0

I'd probably forget, but could someone try to remember to bring name tags we could stick on after we write our "Handles" on them. Maybe someone has a better idea, I need help remembering the names(Handles). Thanks, Bob P0
-
For those who are creative (or have computer-savvy kids or grandkids) you might make up your own nametag which contains the photo or "avatar" that appears next to it, on the Forum0
-
As I have suggested before, I will be wearing a T-Shirt with my avatar and nickname on it. Michel P.S. If interested, T-Shirts can be easily done from home for less than $20. on many drugstore's websites.
P.P.S. tried to post pictures of it but don't know if it worked this time...

I've mentioned the issue with images elsewhere. But if I click those icons, I see the images.0
-
that's pretty slick 54, now I have a month to figure out how to do that, LOL!!!
can I do that via Walgreens???????0 -
piece of cake, via Walgreens - just had to get photo & add my "handle" to it; should get t-shirt for our Fri. get-together in a few days (had photo in Picasa, easy to do)0
-
Yes oldhudsons, easy to do. Wish I could show you the finished product.. But you will see it in Gettysburg. Michel0
-
I don't need a t-shirt for ID - I've been around for so long EVERYBODY knows who the agitator in the hat is!!!! LOL What heck, Its Hudsontech!!!!!!!!! Now that said, I should get Aunt Hester a T-shirt - then oldhudsons would be able to find her easier. hehehehehe
Hudsonly,

Yes Alex, I remind your previous avatar with your hat on, and you always sign: Alex Burr. So, I can bet a lot that I would recognize you a mile away now. But it's not everybody that have put their names or pictures. And I know that you will recognize me cause I O U a beer or other drink.. See you there, Michel.0
-
54 - if you owe him a beer, it's guaranteed you'll have ZERO trouble "finding" him!!!! LOL0
-
Curious!!!! Only post I see on here is oldhudsons. And I don't see a way to get to earlier posts on this discussion.
I'm using Firefox 12 - and a different computer. Mine's in the shop for problems and an upgrade to a 250 gig hard drive to replace the overflowing 80 gig hard drive.

@hudsontech Could be because this discussion is now onto its second page. Can you see the < 1 2 > just above the box where you type posts? That's the page controls for the discussion. Click the 1, and you'll see the previous posts.0
-
Oooopppppppppppps - red face and all. LOL Didn't see the 1 2 - need my glasses prescription changed. Thanks.

That's cool Alex, it is small, and pagination doesn't happen on many discussions.0
-
And I think the computer gets us directly to what level of dicussion we were when we left. That's what I noticed every time I come back. I don't have to verify what i read before. Michel.0
-
Very Nice Job. Would have like to have mine on both sides too! I have 3 and might order another one. Michel0
-
aha, now if I can get the pic to post!
Sign on the sidemount says: "I SURVIVED THE HET NATIONAL IN NASHVILLE, TENN. 1999"0 -
Ken - no, that was a '35 sedan which Zach sold after restoring it & is now in England.
This is a '37 "sportsman's coupe' that I'd bought from Pschirer - photos taken after got back home to Calif., car still on my trailer.0 -
oldhudsons - wasn't very nice of you to leave behind the nice plant Aunt Hester got for you at the Nashville National. She was devestated when she learned you'd left it behind. hehehehe
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr
Memphis, TN0 -
plant, plant??? Aunt Hester's "plant" was a WEED she plucked out of the front of that hell-hole of a motel (we found out that the motel was scheduled for demolition along with the weeds).
You remember that place? The restaurant ran out of food, more than once, we felt sorry for the poor one & only bar tenderess & bussed her tables for her, place ran out of towels, A/C didn't work in some of the rooms, etc., etc.
I've always wondered who chose that place for a National!
I've never stayed at a Wyndham but have high hopes ~0 -
Yeah, but the Nashville rate was only $49 a night!!!!! And I'll have you know Hester bought that plant from a florist and paid pretty good money. Around $10 as I recall.
And the AC wasn't out in "some" of the rooms - I think it went out in most. Along with the ice machines. That was truly a low budget national.
But, hey, Hudson people are tough - they can survive most anything, they can take it and come back for more.) It's the getting together that's the important part.
Hudsonly,
Alex Burr

She paid $10 for the pot, pulled the weed out of the yard on the way to the meeting, LOL!
(hope they have Bass Ale at the bar, then if hot & humid, I can "suffer" in semi-comfort)0 -
Pete, if I treat you to a beer in the bar, will you regale us all with tales of the Olden Days (pre-1970) at the H-E-T??? You must have a million of 'em....0
