Was there another tailight option available in '53 Hornets, ot is this maybe a custom job?

You want to try again? Is there supposed to be a link here?

They appear to be from a Kaiser/Frazer from 49/50 era. Same basic shape but not quite right.0

I think you got the e bay address wrong. The one I see is this one and it is a 53 with back up lights.

othe tail lights are retrofitted from a 48 Packard, dI am almost positive BILL ALBRIGHT0

Thats not a true 53. see the one on this sight and compair. There is a small insignia or light added to the form that is not Hudson. Or there were aftermarket lights made for crash repair that were different. or maybe a close relative like the Merc had them.

According to this one Bill, they are not the same but good guess. Maybe another model?0 -
I think this one is a bit pricey...the whole rear end is stuffed - it will need some frame-rack time to pull out.
This would make a better parts car than a fixer IMO.0 -
It has a 55 or 56 engine in it too

If you're looking at the green hudson in the picture. I think you'll find I'm right that they are 49-50 Kaiser or Frazer taillights. Flat bottom and small oval underneath the lens. Don't think these are packard/merc/aftermarket0

I agree with you.0 -
Okay... Hudsondad is correct... let's settle this for good...
Here's the car in question...
and here's one of a 49 Kaiser backend...
any more questions????0 -
Yep, that settled that HudsonKid !! Thanks for this, it would have bugged me for weeks if you hadn't cleared it up !! Who woulda thought that Kaiser lights would fit so well on a Hudson !!
I like the stock Hudson ones much better though.

Okay.. I know what it is...
It's a set of Kaiser taillights with a Hudson on them....0 -
Ok already you guys, You'd think you found the missing link. But really, great job kid. I found the packard on a web site to discount that one but a kaiser??? I looked for 1/2 hour for one that you could se the rear with no success. Where the h--l did you come up with that one. Done, Bobby0
