looked at all 200+ photos & spotted 3 '52-3 Hornet sedans, a '54 H sd., a '41 probably S6 sd., and a I assume '51 S6 sd.
Wonder if Al Saffrahn knows of these cars.
Unless you know the location the Colo. River wends it's way for hundreds of miles after it leaves the Grand Canyon on way down to Yuma so this yard could be around Bullhead City, Yuma, Parker, Needles, Lake Havasu, etc.
Used to be a lot of big junkyards in Kingman. There's a LOT of older cars in a yard between Kingman & Vegas but I've never seen it open (fenced & padlocked).0 -
Okay, so where EXACTLY is this place? NAME? PHONE? Are they reasonable or is all this still there because it takes gold bullion to make a deal?0
-
I sent Al an e-mail but it came back - he's kinda on again/off again when it comes to using a PC0

If you could come up with the name of those flowering bushes, and find out their habitat you could nail the location down easily. Theres not much vegitation, so I'm leaning more towards Nevada, or the High Desert in Calif above San Berdo looks like that, with the mountains in the background. The closer you get to the Colorado the vegitation really perks up. Another point. I don't see any form of cacti. Just that one flowering bush. That sort of takes Ariz out of my equation. Anyhow it's a pickers dream. Yellow 54 has two good looking tailights, and stainless in good shape.0
-
Okay, what frame are the flowering bushes in or shall I go back through all 270 until I see them?0
-
It is located north of Quartzite AZ.0

50C8 - is there some reason you're so reluctant to say precisely where this place is or give the phone # for it?
I have no interest in any of these cars but am in touch with someone, Al, who might buy the Hudsons & save them from being crushed.
One person I sent the link too used Google Earth & could not find the place.
Just trying to save 1/2 dozen Hudsons.0 -
That Studebaker Talbot convertible was a neat car. Better give Stu Coleman a call he needs one of those... I liked the "Tin Woody" and there is still a chill going down my back from the rattlesnake..... I HATE SNAKES....... Thanks for the trip down memory lane... If I could only one, what would it be?0

Oldhudsons I am not being reluctant at all. I only passed this along from one of my other car forums. What you see is what I have. If you go to the picture site in my first post you can click on the owners link and get his contact information if you want to know more. A little effort and a couple of clicks can do the job! I have no vested interest to keep this a secret, cripe I am too deep in cars now and live 2,000 miles from this place.

@ Oldhudsons. I was at that yard between Kingsman and Vegas last year and took the $5 tour...
Fairly complete 29 Essex sedan with wire wheels. Prices were Really high tho...0 -
OK 50 - the only person I know who'd be interested would be Al as he has a commercial Hudson business in central Az. inc. probably 30+ parts cars. He repairs & restores Hudsons for a large # of customers so always on the lookout & has trailers full of parts. Usually western cars will have very good chrome & unrusted bodies & these look pretty good esp. the '54 from the photos. Will keep you informed as best as possible.0

Twin H - yes, a very restorable sedan.
Any other Hudsons in there? The one photo shows what would appear to be a Stude. PU in the background (white) and an AMC Javelin in the foreground?0 -
Could it be Hidden Valley auto wreckage. out of Pheonix Az. I drove out there in the late 80s
with my 54 Hornet hollywood to buy parts for it. How do I make my own posts on here.Since they changed the site I can't figure it out. Ray0 -
Duncan - Phoenix at least 150 miles from Quartzsite & I think Hidden Valley out of business.0
-
Nope Hidden Valley is still there:

Ray , to start your own post , go to very top of page. On the far right is a green box that says
START DISCUSSION. Click on it and you can post whatever you want.
I have trouble finding it when I don't post often. It's big enough , just out of place and
every other site calls it a " Thread " or "post".
Good luck , Roy0 -
50 C8 - just used the White Pages, Yellow Pages, and spent 1/2 an hr. using aerial stuff avail. online following U.S. 95 north from Quartzsite all the way up to Parker & could not see any place that looked like this. I even went up side roads to mines & trailer parks, nada, & eyeballs blurry, LOL.
I now have several parties other than Hudson people who've seen the photos who'd like to try & go there - where, north of Quartzsite, is this place??????????????0 -
also sent e-mail to commercial photographer who took the pics, he's never responded!?!?!?!?0
-
It's probably a members only junkyard!0

@Duncan To start your own topics, click the big green 'Start A New Discussion' button in the top-right hand corner of the page.0

Nevada - OK, I give up, what do I have to join? Get an i.d. & password to enjoy visitation rights??? LOL0
-
finally found it - crony talked to one of the property owners - in photos spotted a 7th Hudson in the place, a 4-dr Jet - when we'll get to go "eyeball" the place still "up for grabs" but won't be 'til next month.0
