K-Gap update

Press & Janet were retired during K-GAPs "golden age".
The Springs, altho young, have young children, and both had/have jobs so in taking over K-GAP simply "bit off more than they could chew".0 -
46 - I concur completely with what you say; I have a degree in business administration & my prior comments about the Springs should not be construed in any way to defend them or their business practices or lack thereof.
I've know Dany since he was a boy as gone to many HET Inland Chapter functions at his parent's home whom I've know for decades.
I think as Press was aging & Janet's health began to deteriorate it became obvious to them they had to get rid of K-GAP & he told me he had several parties who wanted to buy the business. Knowing Press I believe $$ was of less importance than finding the right "Hudson people" to continue the business' invaluable service to HETers & in them he thought he'd found the right buyer.
Honestly, I feel sorry for Dany & his wife; they made a bad business decision in buying it in the 1st place. Whether they've made or lost $$ I'd have no idea. Can they ever "get it together" & get the business on a sound footing again, only time will tell.0 -
I have had only good experiences with the Spring's. Ordered some parts last January and received them in a few weeks, I am never in a hurry for any parts I order. As for the Kale's, they are nice people, but I was at the Pittsburg meet and wanted to buy some parts, but they did not open their store and very few were open even though the schedule said they would be open on Monday morning (the only time I could make the meet). Even the club store wasn't open. It seemed to me they were more interested in re-connecting with friends than selling to me and others (I had a list). I know it was raining, but other vendors were selling parts, but not Kgap nor the club store which was inside. I got my parts other ways. I hope the Spring's solve their problems, I know the Maas brothers were interested in buying Kgap, maybe that is their solution.0

I phoned Kgap last month, Kaylene answered the phone. I placed a order and had it in two days. The grief she feels from the death of her mother will not go away anytime soon. It took my wife a couple years of grieving when her mother past. Kaylene will do the best she can under the circumstances. It is bad manners and insensitive to kick someone when they are down. They will recover over time. Encourageing words do far more good than the alternative.
Kaylene, I can not know the depth of your loss however our sympathies goes out to you and your family from the bottom of our harts. My God bless you and heal your sorrow.

I just found out today about Kaylene's family tragedy. My heart goes out to you. I had inquired about/ordered a stepdown rear window gasket via e-mail last week and had not received a complete response (understandedly, now) to all my questions. I just got a call that the gasket was delivered to my house along with an invoice. That's service in the face of turmoil. Thank you so much!0

Hey Alex, let those guys in the North Side of Boston know about the guy who cheated you. They will take care of him!0

I had a batch of stainless steel water jackets made for a few HET club members. No deposit taken, just their word. Two members decided not to reply to my several phone calls, messages and emails. My initial reaction was not to have nothing more to do with them. However in December I calmed down and had the correct season attitude. Im still happy to help everyone, but for 2 people its cash first. I found out later one of them had sold his car and the other was very sick. People say I make excuses for people. I know that Im unworthy to throw any stones. Thats how I am.0
