should i cut trim for fender skirt?

i have 2 extra of the long 7' x 1 1/4" stainless trim spears for my 53 hornet. i am needing the same width stainless piece for one fender skirt and was flirting with cutting off what i need for the long spear. i know i already have it, but i kind of hate to cut one of these long pieces up. i know they would be a pain to ship so i don't know if i would ever sell them or need them. i also don't know how rare the skirt stainless is either. i do have the ability to bend and tack the cut end for use on the fender skirt if i cut it. anyone have any thoughts?

I think I have one of those that has all ready had about 6 inchs cut off of it. Would rather see it cut up more than waste a good long one. I can check and see if you like if its still around the warehouse,

I have some nice pieces you need for the skirts, and I could use the long ones. Maybe we can work a deal. I will send you a PM.

Just a note , I've mailed those long pieces in a PVC pipe, the grey ones.
They are light and give good protection.
I tried a downspout, it was light , but got stepped on !0 -
thank you all 3 for the food for thought. i should prob keep one of the long spears just in case i need one in the future. you guys have convinced me i shouldn't cut one of these up since someone will need them.
Roger- if it's easy to check, go ahead. i like the idea of using the scrap piece, since not a lot of people would do it.
Don- replied to the pm. forgot to say my skirts are in good shape, all i really need off of them is one of the larger stainless strips that go across the skirt toward the top. i do need the 2 smaller pieces that are at the bottom right behind the skirt that are 5/8" x 5".
lostmind- i have shipped trim before. i have used carpet rolls they worked pretty good. like i was telling ski4life65 in the pm i shipped some chevy fleetside trim years ago that were 8' and they had to go freight. i couldn't believe it. when it gets to freight the price is unreal. since these are a little shorter maybe they can be shipped fairly economicly.0
