Just for those who did not see it. What do you think? Michel

It's hideous . . . but beautiful. Are there any top irons? Are the original windows there? How about the rear seat? Those questions and more would certainly need to be answered if someone were interested in restoring this one.0

Dave Sollen and I went to see this one last winter. It's junk. Floor is all missing rear frame is rusted beyond help. It had a Ford 240 truck 6 cylinder sitting in it. Dash board was rusted completely through.Rear fenders are 52-53. Rear bumper supports cut off. Yes top irons are there. Some decent body parts from other cars have been hung.. like doors, front/rear fenders . No interior at all. The vin number did reflect a 48 Commodore. Don't recall if it was a 6 or 8 originally. maybe Dave remembers. Not much to work with.
I don't think you could build from this platform but some of the convertible only parts are worth saveing.
Last time it was on Ebay it supposedly sold for $5or6K, Seller said it was paid for but not picked up. (Yea riiiight!) He does not respond to emails from me even though I made a cash offer. Something is fishey about this seller. Bidder beware.0 -
Thanks guys, this is what I like in here. Does not take long to get right infos on about any car on the web. Michel.
P.S. Just bought a house ( with a huge garage) so, no money for a new project. As soon as the garage will be ready, I will be working on my 54. The good news about the mortgage is, since I am 59, as soon as I'll be 84, it will be paid! Then I'll look for a convertible...0 -
Hey Dave! If this one's junk, it makes me wonder what y'all would have thought of this one:0

Looks like a builder to me! Like the man said.. it casts a shadow..
Is that a Holiday Rambler in the background?0 -
There is enough there to tell it's a 52 or 53.0
-
It's a '52. It currently looks like this:0

And the good Fairy waved her magic wand and turned an ugly duckling into a beautiful........1952 Hudson convertible???? LOL

'The floor was replaced with heavy ga steel' so you know there is basically no floor and you know what to start with. It sounds like a life time hobby, excellent for those who have the know-how, a lot of patience and have great fun doing it !
I admire your courage Russell, you are an artist and from what I've seen, everything is done perfect !

Thanks! I think that Commodore is a good for parts, personally. Pans are one thing, but if the frame is toast, which apparently it is, then you haven't got much at all, imo.0 -
Yeah you can replace frame rails and wrap around but - Whew - what a mess - ,

So... Who bought it? $3,100.57 on Sept 3..0

Boy, I don't know - I thought my project was rough. Almost four years to the day and it will be painted (finally).0
