Mustang II power steering?

Wouldn't a new steering box would be required for any ratio change? Sounds like a new column and box to me, which wouldn't be too minor.0

I can't see how either as the Mustang uses a rack. Would like to see how you add that with only minior mods. I will have to wait for my WTN so I can see how it was done.0

There is no "how to" on this in the magazine. I talked to the car's owner, Tom Fink of Florida, about his car, and wrote down what he told me. He is listed in the Club directory, (as Charles Fink) or you could contact him at HETtf1933@msn.com. (drop the HET). If someone would like to get info on this conversion and write it up for the magazine, I'd be delighted to publish it...0

I think I'll go ahead and email him, and see what I can come up with (although if anyone on here knows him or has an "in", feel free to jump in. I just want the info, and am not concerned with who comes up with it). I'll let the board know what I find out.0

Hudson Dave, I have heard of the conversion you describe. Friend mine told me about that one and think its a really nice conversion option as you replace the existing Hudson steering box in the same location. I am seriously looking at this method for my Hudson.
Do you have any pictures of one of these conversions?0 -

Dave, what about the steering column interface? Do you use the Isuzu column or can the Isuzu box be mated to the Hudson steering column and shaft?0

hi i have a chevy in mine so it was easy .as for the pump a geo metro has a small p/s pump about 4 in. around with a remote resevor very cool and compact all the street roders are. using them hope that helps0 -
ha park all you do is cut the tube off just below the shift coller and the steering shaft all so if you look in any hot rod mag. you will find a u-joint that will fit your shaft and the box with set screws the shaft will need to push down and tightend with it pulled down .i go to a junk yard and get the end off a GM car colum about 6 in. long the tube will fit over the hudson tub and the o.d. it the same as the i.d. of the hudson i cut to leanth drill and pin then weld it . as for a p/s pump a geo metro has little pump about 4 in around with a remote resevore .to cool i hop this helps Hudson Dave give me a call if you have any questions .352-564-4284 cell 352- 586-84270
