We had a great meet just over the weekend and here are some photo's that I took. I thought there would be some posted by now, but as others get back for the great weekend more will show up. If ya missed it--we really missed you! It was a great show and is a good indicator that the show at Oklahoma City will be even better....

Thanks for the photos,Brownie, somehow I missed you. Fran and I took the SanDiego Trolley all over town on Friday. Did any one have trouble getting out on Sunday I had to back my trailer clear from one end of the lot to the other and cut 90 degrees in reverse between two rows of cars, at about 6:30 am. Big thanks to Borders region, had a great time.

I left early Sunday morning and drove home. I have no idea why we were in such a hurry, but it seemed a good day for a drive. Since I did not have my car (98% complete)I did not spend a lot of time in the lot. However, things will be different at the National since I will have the English Hudson. I should be as easy to find as a cat in a sand box...

I gotta' say, I was there! Had a great time!:) I think next time I go to one of these regional meets I'm going to wear a shirt that says "Bent Metal" on it. I talked to a nice guy named Jay, after I got home I thought "Was that 'Jay' from the forum?" Then I see above that "Ron S" was there and I recognize his car as one that stood out to me. I think I even talked to him and mentioned how nice it was, and how clean it looked. As far as uncluttered, clean and neat. Really nice, him and the car. Then I know Brownie was there but I never got a chance to talk to him.
I'm trying! But I guess I have to be more out-going and socialize a bit harder. I think I missed out on talking to a bunch of you guys. Not to mention not realizing who I was talking to.
    I'll do better next time.

Good idea. I'll be at my fisrt regional in june in Albany N.Y. and have the same idea, having a t-shirt with 54SuperWasp on it and maybe my avatar. That's a good way to recognise our friends on the forum. Michel.

Brownie, can you download the photo's to a photobucket or other online album and post the link? I have to use a microscope to view the ones in the post. Looked like a great meet!

    Bent,
I spoke with a lot of folks there and I expect that most of them knew me from this Forum but I did not connect the names. I like the idea of a shirt with my car on it. I also spent some time looking at Jay's car and I expect that I spoke with him but did not draw the connection. Bent, you were down town or at the beach when I went asking about you..... Ya got to do it all when you are at one of these meets... I spend more time at the show when I take my car.....

A good point, regarding, talking to people in person and not realizing that was a person that you were speaking with on the forum, only the day before. Example: I was talking with Steve Engle for 10 minutes before I realized he is "Marconi". Maybe a roster could be made available. Any ideas?

Any ideas? Using your given name for one on the forum. That's how I met Brownie Peterson at Laughlin by his name tag. As I was searching the swap meet area, Ron, you introduced yourself as RonS from the forum, and Steve said I'm Marconi at Western Regional Meet. It was great to meet you. We had some good conversations over the weekend. I've known Steve for several years but did not know he was Marconi.

Another idea. Get comfortable introducing yourself to anyone at the meets as you did with me Ron. This one is not so easy for me but I'm working on it. Once the ice is broken I've meet some very nice and interesting people that I look forward to meeting again at the next meet. Some have become good friends.

I like the previous suggestions. Will there be some very intersting T-Shirts showing up at the next meet?

Bettie and I had a wonderful time at the meet.

Thank you Southwestern Borders for all your work putting on this great event. Job well done.

You all have a wonderful day.
