As much as I hate to, I am putting my 36 English Built Hudson up for sale. Anyone have an interest drop me a note: Not sure if I should list it on ebay or not?

be sure & put it into the Hudson 8 site!
  • Thanks for the tip. If anyone wants to see more photo's or read about its history you can get it on Google by searching: 1936 Hudson Stratton Sport Saloon or give me a call 435 279-6930. I know what I have in the car but does anyone have any suggestions for how much I should ask for it?

    Brownie - as it's a completely "one-off" that's very hard to say.
If you belong to ROC you should place an ad there as that kind of coachwork far more appreciated there than here which is another good reason to advertise it on the Hudson 8 website as we have member in Australia, England, Denmark, France, and Germany I believe.

There is one for sale in England for 79,000 Pounds but it has been advertised for at least 18 months - maybe much longer - with no takers. So I'd suggest asking a little less for yours.

    Brownie,

Price it in kilograms, rather than pounds- it'll sound like less.

But to answer your question (which means I won't actually answer your question), there's kind of a heirarchy of prices for vintage Packards, Duesenbergs, and other "popular" makes- but for a one-off Hudson derivative? Not so much. Its gonna be a matter of finding the right guy. I am usually a proponent of pricing something in the ad, but might not in this case- might be inclined to do something like "entertaining reasonable offers".

Brownie, I hope I get to see this car in person before you sell it off across the pond or to some far away place. I would love to own it as I think it is a really handsome car and you have accomplished an outstanding restoration but alas, it is above my pay grade! Sorry that you have to part with it.
  • I was lucky to see this great car at the Oklahoma City National. Brownie did have a slight problem with it there - he had to wash it every 15 or 20 minutes because people were drooling all over it !!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Sorry to see you have to sell it Brownie, but I know nothing is forever and I know you have enjoyed having it. Thanks for bringing it to Oklahoma City.

The good thing about selling a car is you get to use it until it sells. By the way, I posted it on eBay today...

$90,000.00 Opening bid are you kidding. Just joking. I hope you get double that or more. It must break your heart to sell such a beautiful car. Good luck.

I, too, am disappointed to see you part with the Stratton. You were such a big help in getting my own Stratton on the road and down to Oklahoma City. YOU WILL MISS IT and maybe buy it back? (wink). We are out and about with our own Stratton this very weekend but only about 100 miles.
