New Forum responds very slowly?

Ive only tried looking at the new forum a couple of times today and it seems very very slow, like it takes about 15 to 20 seconds for a thread to come up when I click on it. On the old forum it took maybe 1 second. Is anyone else experiencing this? Rob

  • There is a "time to create page" at the bottom for you to check. Can you look at that and send us the time. It might be a little slow at first.

How do you go to the next thread without going back to the index?

  • At the bottom of the page is a box with thread name....just press GO

OR click on Hudson is the breadcrumb link above.
  • I dont know what happened but now its much faster that it was. whatever it was it seems fine now. Its ranging between .25 and .5 seconds to create page. Thanks. Rob

    Rob-

Mine started that way, too. Now much faster than earlier.

Can't see any box at page bottom containing "thread name" as suggested by Ted. I even polished my specs but that didn't help!!

Ted - I'm getting used to the new format, however I'm wondering why we have an occasional thread from the Ford, or General posts listed in ours? ? ?

I have had some major problems just getting on line. Now that I am there it is the learning process. As an old man, I do not know how much longer I can continue to make all these changes?

  • Now this is strange. I just looked at a thread at the top of the forum that RL had posted and it took 13.38 seconds to access it. So I've had a bunch of fast acceses and now another slow one. Rob
  • Now more goofy stuff, When I hit submit on the last post I just posted it too at least 30 seconds to update but the "time to create" says it took 5.60 seconds. Rob

Whether I am opening the main page or reading someone's thread; sometimes it is very slow and even "times out' on occasion, other times both the main page, as well as the threads load pretty fast...hmmm - Michael
  • We are working on this. There is a bug that affects the load time. We should have a fix shortly.
  • Speed seems about the same to me. Yes, change is difficult for us (we) geezers- but it's all balanced out by the fact that I can now post pictures! :woohoo:

Here's a nice shot of a Minneapolis Moline 2 Star crawler tractor- a very rare item. I figure you've all seen every Hudson pic I have. . .

I always wondered why there wasn't a direct way to get pics from your own files, without having to post them to an internet site. Apparently, someone has figured it out. The tractor board I frequent also has a similar method, since about 3 months ago.
