couple weeks ago I installed a REBUILT CARTER 2115S on my 54 Wasp 262.
When I put it on I did not make any adjustments at all I just wanted to see if It would start up.

I was able to get the car to start "IF I PRIMED THE CARB WITH GAS" and it would run and idle although very rough, Once again I did NOT make any adjustments to the Idle or Mixture set screws.

Well this weekend it has decided NOT TO START AT ALL..Priming dosent work and it sounds like it wants to catch, but it will NOT Fire..

Any trouble shooting ideas or recomendations....??

THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Tom, someone may jump in here with the right answer, but have you considered phoning the rebuilder to ask him if you need to make preliminary adjustments? (Or is this a rebuilt carb that's been sitting in the box for 50 years?)

Was the car running smoothly when you took the old carb off? Or was it running badly and you assumed that it needed a rebuilt carb. (In which case, it's possible that the problem you were experiencing was not carburetor related at all.)

Then too, there's always the chance that someone goofed when rebuilding the new one -- left a spare screw inside the thing, for example. No one's perfect.
If no solution presents itself, you might re-install the old carb just to see if the car runs at all. If there is absolutely no improvement, this indicates that the problem lies somewhere beyond the carburetor.

Car ran fine with the Old Carb, but rich and it wasn't the correct Carb for my Car.

As I stated the car did run for a short while with the Rebuilt installed then It just crapped out.. And the Carb was newly REBUILT using the proper rebuild kit for this model..
