Recently posted on Gregg Maroney's web site - the 1948-1949 Hudson parts catalog I recently scanned. Took me forever!!!!

Anybody with a 48-49 that doesn't have this book, should take a look. Or anybody that needs info from something like this.

Also, it's searchable.

Thank Alex. For those of us who have 1948 - 1949 Hudsons this is great!

I am in need of the bottom chrome trim, both sides of the car, for a 1949 Hudson super six. Need in good condition for chrome plating, if not in great condition. Also in need of the chrome name plate on the right hand glove box. Right now it says Commodore, but it's actually a Super SixThanks, Don Brown

  • Don,there was no chrome glove box nameplate on the 48-9 Super series. The right hand glove box had a plastic ornament plate with the ship and castle design. Additionally the car you speak of is not identified as a sedan or a coupe needing the stainless trim.

Don, any trim on the rocker panels would have been polished stainless steel, so really all that would be necessary would be to again polish the molding you are looking for.

  • Thanks for the fast response. I just bought the 49 Hudson super six sedan, trying to get it into shape. If anyone can tell me where to pick up the stainless steel on the rocker panels and the proper emblem on the glove box, that too would be appreciated. The car is a 49, but has a 1950 Pacemaker six engine, 232 CI.

There is an electrical diagram in the 1948-1949 shop manual, such as it is, that is in the online library - http://hetclub.org/burr/lithomepage.htm
Click on "Manuals" under the 1948-1954 file.

  • The horn has a relay under the hood - common source of problems, take power right to the horn and see if they are good first,
