Car Cover Recommendations?
Since I am in need of a car cover for my 37 Hudson coupe, I thought I would seek feedback from the group as to what you have used, and particularly would your recommend it again and why?
I am thinking of getting an outdoor cover, that way if I need to use it outdoor I have the capability to do so especially since I live in Montana now there may be snow and rain to consider. FYI, my Hudson is the Hudson 122" wb, not the terreplane wb.
Thanks, Brian

John Lazenby at Royze is a warehouse distributor for Covercraft and he is a car collector. He has handled Covercraft for about 35 years. Covercraft is by far the largest manufacturer and then other companies in this hobby are resellers of Covercraft. You can email john@royze.com with your needs or ask him questions and then talk to him on their 800 number which he will give you. Universal fit, custom fit (to the shape of your car), all the various materials, John can give you honest answers on all these concerns.
I have several covers I have purchased from John.0 -
Hi Brian,
I can supply you just about any cover you need. StillOutThere actually has my time frame a bit short. The truth is I've sold Covercraft products for over 40 years.
You can reach me at 800 421-2011 weekdays usually between 7:30 and 3:00pm. If I'm not available please leave a message with your number and I'll get back to you as soon as I'm able.
Looking forward to assisting you,

Just thought I would add my 2 cents.. DON"T waste your money on a "Budge" cover. They are of little use. Dust filters through them, rain will get through and they tear very easily. The only function is to make your car invisible (LOL), and keep bird dropping off the finish. That last thing might be useful if you park where pigeons roost!
Oh ... and don't leave the cover on if you trailer with an open trailer.0 -
Darn, I wrote up a long diatribe about car covers...long ago...can't find it with the current forum search
I worked in body and paint all my life - have seen many, many cars come thru with damage due to using car covers...
DON'T USE CAR COVERS OUTDOORS
Think magnifying glass and an ant
The car cover traps the moisture - when the sun comes out it gets very hot and bad things happen to paint- it will dis-color and or bubble..gauranteed.
Let alone using a cover outside the wind blowing the cover around will scratch and rub paint off over time.
The only time I'd EVER us a car cover is inside a DRY garage to keep the dust off...but thats just me.

Every few years there are significant advancements in the science for making the materials for car covers. You most certainly can store a car outside under SOME but not ALL car covers today. That is why you should talk to John above and get the right material for the conditions in which you intend to use it. Covercraft, the brand John handles, are the guys applying the breakthroughs first because they are the largest manufacturer in the world. I've toured the plant in Oklahoma - its awesome.0

I would suggest you don't use outdoor car cover. If you have plan to your outdoor car cover, the cover traps the moisture and car covers have the lowest absorption rates.Provide better protection from rain than others.0
