Our intrepid president and HET Club webmaster, Aaron Cooper, has uploaded a couple of 1960's WTN's. These will be available to members at a later date once Aaron gets rid of the bugs (with a loaded flit gun he is progressing). In Vol. 7, Issue 4, we came across this little jewel.
Chapter XMCIII Booz-Roth Adventures
The intrepid two attempt to bring home Booz's '29 H convertable coupe from Sacramento, but fail to get the gem running, find out the war on poverty won't pay freight charges and one way trailers don't exist. However, richer by many
(cheap) new Hudson parts from an old dealer, the heroes return. Booz comes home with a set of 1952 Hudson 3 dimensional slides-a sales device, complete with viewer. Ever seen one? The many cars of member Carl Mendoza were dusted off and enviously seen including his 1928 H convertable sedan. Meanwhile, a '54 Hudson Hollywood and a '35 H convertable coupe were turned up in the Los Angeles area by Griff Clark, while the boys were looking elsewhere.
Those were fun days, weren't they, Pete!!!
It is also amusing to note that the club store had a roaring total of five items - but highly affordable: Tie Clasps $1.50, Key Fob $1.50, Large Back Patch $1.50, Small Pocket Patch like large one .500 and the Chrome Placque $2.00.

they sure were! I went up to Sacramento & got the '29 H conv. cp. (body by Briggs) with one Tim Rice who was the one who got me into old Hudsons to start with. Tim insisted we could drive the '29 home & we started out. I don't remember how far we got but Tim drove it too fast & one of the rods started to loosen up so stashed it a gas station or garage; I returned the next weekend with a trailer to get it. A very interesting & rare model of '29 Hudson; had it many years.
Mendoza's story is another whole chapter!
Met Griff Clark when he beat me to the best original '54 I ever saw. It was advertised in the L.A. Times & belonged to the original owner, an aerospace engineer who kept it in perfect condition, it was a Hornet coupe. Griff an interesting soul too & was always finding good rare Hudsons at super-cheapo prices such as a '51 HH just sitting out on the street for a few hundred bucks!0 -
Is Mendoza's '28 convertible sedan now in Eldon's collection?0

yes, Richard Griffith & I engineered that purchase for him; I think he has 2 of them?
Mendoza's Italia still "in hiding"!0 -
Old Walt is the guy that got it running so Richard could get it sold. Walt.0
