Italia at the upcomming BJ Scottsdale auction

I looked on the BJ website today and it did not say anything about the Italia that is going to be offered at the auction in January. However, as I was visiting at my chrome shop today they were working on new headlight chrome for the Italia. I have been playing with Hudson products, parts and cars for a while now but this is my first hands on experience with an Italia. See how easy it is to "Make My Day!!!"

Any idea which car it is. The headlight rings are Jet by the way.0

I do not. I guess I could ask next time I go down to the shop. I thought that someone here might know the car. The car is in Phoenix and our job order is from a shop in Phoenix. They tell me that it will be the cover car for the auction flyer. I am not sure how much work they are doing on the car. I did know the rings would interchange with a Jet. When we started to work on them I thought they might be bad enough that we would need another set. They cleaned up quite well. No cracks and no bad pitting. We should have them in house for about a week. The rings were a lot more "beafy" than what I expected a jet to have?0

Very interesting. I'm anxious to see what develops.

I was at the chrome shop today and they told me it belonged to someone named George (tough last name and I forgot it). It is going to be the cover for the BJ auction and the photos were taken this week. They are expecting one million bid on the car with a fresh restoration.0

There was a Italia auction at Pebble Beach Weekend. Sold for just under 250 K. Don't know the car but it sounded very nice conditon. A number 1 or 2 condition. A million is a streach but still a nice thought.

Owned by George Soros?0

A million sounds good to me. I think the name is Gordon. Not George.0

I checked and you are right. Gordon.0

Probably Gordon Apker from Seattle, he also has a home in Phoenix. The Northwest Chapter took a tour of his car collection in 2003 and saw the Italia (#21), it was down to the bare bones at that time. Gordon has some truly amazing cars. You might remember Gordon as the guy who sold his gold colored 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 concept car at Barrett Jackson in 2004 for 3 million.
