that looks great Rob. nice work. What about the burgandy / blue/ green coloring?
  • I do hope to have the burgandy/blue/ and green colors available in the not to distant future. I'm not sure how much market there will be for them. It seems like those colors stand up pretty well. I don't know if there will be much market for the Ivory ones either but I know the Ivory color doesn't stand up as well.
  • Are you taking orders yet ? Will you want a core ? Or cores ,?
    Roger
  • Yes, I can start taking orders now. I will want a core and a deposit before I start a customers wheel. If you are asking if I want spare cores. I have a few parts cars that have Hornet wheels but it would be good to have a spare or two extra.
  • I was not aware that any HORNET had an ivory wheel before 1954. I guess you live and learn.

You are correct, Hornets did not have ivory wheels before '54. It was either burgundy, marbled blue and green (pretty sure about the green, but might not have been all years).

But, the ivory wheel that Rob made is for me upon my request. It will be going on a '52 Hornet Convertible. Since the interior will be a non-original RED, it was either a red wheel (a good, used, painted one), or have Rob cast one in ivory, which he did for me. So, in essence, I will have the very first known Hornet with an original-styled, but non-factory colored wheel. I think it will be a good contrast with the red leather. He has also made many other parts for me in the ivory color for this car.

Is that perhaps sans horn ring?

1952 Wasp picture. 1950 Pacemaker 500A had the same steering wheels, one of the cars I owned, a 4door had this same wheel. Too long ago, do not have any pictures of that one. Found an interesting picture of 1952 Right Hand Drive Convertible with white wheel.
