In the above link is the auction notice for a genuine Barn Find 1937 Hudson Eight. I believe it to be a model 77
long wheelbase sedan. In the auction notice is a link to pictures of the car. This Hudson has electric hand, vacumne clutch, and the tray table. I had heard about this car for some years but never had a location to go look at it.

  • What is the round piece on the upper rad hose?
    A block heater maybe?

it also has clock & radio as well as the optional "bustle back" trunk.
    too bad interior so "ratty"

No title--maybe 40 wears ago I would have been interested , way to much work.

The round gizmo on the upper radiator hose could also be an aftermarket in-line thermostat. These often had a knob on them, for adjusting the operating temperature. I salvaged one of these from a Hudson I parted out decades ago -- though it didn't look like the one that's pictured here.

I'm curious what the car will bring, maybe not so much ? I'm lucky it isn't closer or I'd probably try to snag it too :)

Just wishing that someone would come and buy this 37 Hudson so I do not have to.
It would be so cool to have another one the same car as I already have, but I can't drive both at the same time. Several local Northern Ohio Chapter members will attend.

Shel, I remember a fellow in the New England Chapter had two 1952 Hudson Hornet sedans - he had them painted the same so they were twins. He was going to a meet so took one Hudson down to the gas station to fill it up; his wife was going to take the other so when he got home he jumped in the 2nd one and went back to the gas station. He said the look he got from the fellow at the station was priceless - the guy commented that Hudsons must get lousy gas milage!!!!

I think it would look good next to your car Sheldon. Good restoration project.

Today I was in the area and inspected the 37H8, it is a model 77 long wheelbase sedan. This car is complete, only missing a cigar lighter. A extra left front fender and engine come with it. This car will need everything restored, its interior is a "rat's nest" but good for patterns. There is a Hudson radio, electric hand, vac clutch, bubble trunk. Very solid body with light surface rust. If it had dual sidemounts I wouldn't be telling anyone about it!!

Maybe it will go to someone on this forum so we can watch the restoration project. Or, maybe draw someone new into the club.

    SOLD!!
About 8 HET members from, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana watched two women bid very strongly for the car. The woman who bought the 37H8 was representing a HET member from Michigan who really likes Hudson Eights.
  • HOW MUCH ! ! ??
