Thought I saw a promo of "On the Road", or something like that. Anyone else see it?

It has not been released yet. It is due out this December. I Googled it and watched a trailer for the movie. Looks to me that the only good part is the Hudson. Well, there also seems to be quite a bit of drinking, drugs, and running around without any clothes on. The story "On the Road Again" has been made into a number of movies. One was filmed here in Ogden, Utah. The only good thing about that move was eating steak at three in the morning at the Cast Trailer--and driving my car across a few intersections for a few bucks. I think I will pass on this current edition of the story. This is a good time to read the book.

Got $200.00/day for 3 weeks when they used my 28 Essex Coupe in the recent King Kong remake. Only thing wrong was that it didn't make it past the ""cutting room" but the cash went towards covering some car costs!!
  • Yeah its worth just being there and seeing what goes on. One of mine was used in a movie a few years ago and same thing happened. I can pick it out in a couple spots but not nearly as many as it was actualy filmed in."The game of thier lives " I think was the title ,not a real big deal,

Thanks for the insight Brownie. I'm not trying to promote the movie, I know nothing about it. Just saw a Hudson, thought I might mention it.

I had a movie experience once too. The movie Seabiscuit. They had me dressed in period correct stuff, standing dead in the middle of a street scene. I was supposed to look like I was in dispare as the camera would approach, pass by me close, and go onto the main characters at a camp fire. ...It was going to be great! With everyone now in possition, the hot shot director puts his fingers up in a forward and regular facing L shape, thumbs touching, and he starts to scan the area as he looked through his fingers. He checked the whole area, moved some people apart, some together, move this over there, move that over here. Just little things stirred around really. Then he pointed to me, had me take a few steps back. Then he scanned the entire area again. Everything looked perfect. Except me, he needed me to take a few more steps back, so I did. ...Then he checked it all again, all is well. Except me, he needed me to take a few more steps back, so I did. Next thing I know, I'm in between two houses that lined the street! I can't see the cameras anymore, and I hear someone say "Quiet on the set!". Then, "Roll-um'!" :( haha

The food on set was great! But all I kept thinking all day was hurry up and wait. And I needed to get home and work on some cars, maybe mow the lawn too. :)

My experience was with a new TV series about 15-20 yrs ago. I was paid $75 a day for the use of my Fiat Spyder to be the main characters car. The car was returned with the drivers seat broken the transmission teeth broken and trouble keeping the engine running. I was told to have it fixed, send them the bill and they would pay. I sent the repair bill. The series was cancelled after 2 or 3 episodes. You know where the bill went. As time past they had the nerve to come back and ask to use my 69 AMX for another project. I said, that will be OK BUT you have to buy it first. They didn't care much for that idea.

    I still have the AMX.

    Easy money sometimes is costly.

I was not able to be on set (had my business to run) but they valued me at the same rate as the car - so I only got half of max $$ possible!! Essex survived well but I gave it to them "cleaned & shiny" and got it back professionally dirtied!!
