i am working on the wiring on my 53 hornet and started to wonder something about the front parking lights. in the manual it looks to have one wire going to it from light switch that is on when lights are on. i also think it says it uses the same bulb as the rear stop/turn. is this right? and do these blink when turn signal is on or are they just parking lights? sorry most of the wiring was totally gone and i am slowy going back to as close to original as i can. also can i use the same socket as rear with 2 wires and just hook up one or 2 with one being turn?

  • On the front im prety sure it came with a single filiment and you needed to change the wire and innerds of socket to two wire for blinkers.

Same bulb as the tail/turn. Dim side goes to the park position from the switch, bright side to the corresponding turn signal wire. Sockets are available at the parts store, both single and double, push in type works for both front and back.

thank you both for the into. i actually have two good original sockets from the rear i can use on the front. i am kind of up in the air about if i want to put turn signals on it. if it originally didn't have them i am kind of leaning toward just park lights.
  • 6 volt front and rear light=Number 1154

  • Well the thing is it could have had them from the factory if ordered that way. It just was not standard equipment at that time. But was a factory part if wanted,
