1950 Hudson super dome

It pretty much has value to other owners of Hudson 8's. Most people restoring stepdowns want 308's . Don't trash your engine but don't expect any large price for that block. In fact forget about a starting price. If you find someone who wants it, give it to them. You will be doing them a favor and knowing that it didn't make it's way to China.0

That's funny nobody has given me something they have and I need. I wish it was that way but I know what you mean.0

(Hey, you could start a trend, LOL!) Actually, Hudson folks have been known to give stuff away in the past, though maybe not an entire engine!
But seriously, just advertise it for more than you think you can get, and then say "or best offer by December 10" or whenever you need the thing out of there. If you're not pressed for time, advertise it in the WTN, it's free if you're a member, and it reaches a lot more Hudson people than this forum does.
When you do advertise it, please be specific on the engine condition (running? any problems?) and the type of transmission (3-speed? overdrive? Hydramatic or Borg Warner?) And of course mention your location, which might entice a buyer who suddenly realized you live only an hour away from him.0 -
What is your location?0

I know a guy in WI who might need one. I would just post it in ad form here or in the WTN I bet it would get a good home. They're not makin any more of em.0

I helped a guy in my chapter fix the clutch in his '50 Commodore, then he let me borrow it. the 262 in it currently was given to him.
I got a bunch of old tools for free (including a nice hub puller and some other neat stuff) and I gave all the stuff I didn't need to a younger club member who was glad to have it.
I helped sell a car and otherwise help out with the estate of a recently deceased member, and was given a very nice collection of magazines & tools.
I give away my time to (occasionally) put out a newsletter, and help fix other peoples cars, and in spite being a bunch of cranky old S.O.B.'s we are a pretty generous bunch.

I gave a transmission to someone years back. I got the transmission back 10 years later when he sold me the car he had put it in. The transmission wasn't doing anything for me at the time but taking up space in my garage. He put it to good use...and now I am as well.0

Got a hose for my air vent so the rain water wouldnot pour on the back two plugs on my 308. Mailed it to me and everything. Thanks again KIM john0

I have received stuff for free when I first got into Hudsons in high school, and I try to give away stuff I will never use to others just getting started in Hudsons. Nothing wrong with a little good karma.....0
