This is my first post. I have been monitoring this forum for awhile, but just registered

I have been a Hudson Club member for 20 years now. I served as President of the WNY/Ontario chapter from 1988-1992 and I have been secretary for a number of years.

I own a 1951 Pacemaker coupe, 232 engine with Clifford cam, headers,(dual exhaust) and Clifford manifold and 4brl carb. Overdrive tranny w/ 4:11 gears.

I was an Auto Mechanic for 40 plus years. I now work part time for Advance Auto Parts selling parts.

I must add that our club is the BEST! and that the people are great! I hope I will be able to contribute to this forum in the future

  • Lucky dog, That sounds like a really nice driver. I have always thought the short wheelbase cars handled the best.

Welcome to the madhouse, Jim! Pull up a chair and don't be a stranger! Since you're new to the Forum, you may be unacquainted with the Hudson Chat as well; it's at http://www.classiccar.com/hudson_chats.htm and there are usually a few Hudson folk over there during evenings after 8 or 9 PM. (if you don't encounter anyone, come back in a half hour). And if you haven't visited the H-E-T homepage, that's at http://www.hudsonclub.org/
  • Welcome Jim! There are a lotta good people here with helpful tips and tricks. I've got a '50 Pacemaker Coupe I'm playing with.

    Welcome aboard,

Welcome aboard, Jim - can always use another "Nor'easter" on here. Seems we're pretty much outnumbered most of the time.

Any chance your car is Bali Blue? I now own my grandfathers 1950 Pacemaker sedan that was bought new by my grandfather in Rochester at Duffy Mckenna Motors, Bali Blue. My grandfather also had a dark blue Pacemaker coupe that is now equipped almost identically to yours. Don't know where it ended up...PA I think.

    Welcome aboard,

Yes, my car is Bali Blue,- well not quite- but close. You have probably seen it up here at one of our meets. Attica, maybe?

I knew your grandfather, Gene. I had been to a meet at his house in 1970 (I believe)

In fact the first person I met in Rochester driving a Hudson was your dad. He was living out on Atlantic ave. at the time.

Bob Evans from Olean owned the dark blue coupe for some time, attended a lot of meets. He sold the car and I do believe it did end up in Pa. Bob passed away from cancer a few years ago. I remember the 50 Pacemaker also. I believe your dad drove it to Rochester (Ellison Park) about 1988-9. Had a problem with it, turned out to be a restricted fuel line. Didn't you drive a 1955 or 56 to Attica one Year?

    Take Care.

There were alot of fuel line problems with the car. My brother in law may have driven his '57 Hornet (also was my Grandfathers car) to the Attica meet. I remember a few meets at Ellison park as a kid...I have lived out of NY for about 8 years, so It's been a while since I was at a meet there.

    Small world...
