In what city did the combination of a Hudson-Packard dealer exist and which supplier of new cars was dropped first, if you know.
Personally I'll take that Packard if it is still available!0 -
To hell with the Packard, I'd take that Hudson!
Great photos, Roy! Thanks for sharing.0 -
I'd rather have what appears to be a Commodore coupe over a "cheapo" Packard sedanette.

Don't know the location. Cordell - Turaville Motors. Here's a picture of the outside of the building0

Hudson-Packard dealers weren't all that uncommon. Along with Studebaker and a few other combinations.

It was in Tallahassee. Here is the story:

Neat story. It's to bad the HET club didn't come up with an oral history program to try and save some of these dealership stories (and I'm as guilty as anyone else for not doing something about it - but, then again, I'm not much of an interviewer. Writing, yes - interviewing somebody is another story.)

It appears the building still exists.0

I found it interesting that the original buildings housed a florist shop and today is once again a florist shop.

Check out the picture that "53jetman" posted. Along side the building is an El Camino style pick-up. Looks to be a converted Hudson coupe, maybe a two door sedan. Notice the skirted running boards, car quarters, long door. Didn't know there was ever a truck like this! But there it is, AND at a dealership too. With what apears to be writing on the door, I presume it's the dealership delivery vehicle. Too cool!!! :-O Also notice the back window, it's HUGE!
I'd love to see what the bed looked like.
I want one.0 -
I JUST POSTED THIS PHOTO A FEW WEEKS AGO BUT IT'S AN OLD DEALER PHOTO0

Bent Metal , I assumed it was a broughm , cut down with a later model truck window added.0

Looks like the front end of a Crosley way down the street to the right.0
