What do you guys enjoy most from owning these great cars,Ride, build quality,Style etc? I miss driving the car now that the cold weather is here and can't wait for the warmer days in May.
I will never forget my first drive after getting the car on the road after so much work bringing her back from the dead.

    What a wonderful car. I guess my favorite thing about my 28 Essex Roadster Pick up is that it is a daily driver. The shop queen sits in the garage and I fire up the roadster and head out. Today it was -1 but the roads were dry. I fired it up, drove up to the NAPA store and bought some parts for the 54. Life is great!!!! No Snow, No Rain and it is a good day for a drive...

    It's minus ten degrees farenheit here. The two Hudson and the Willys are sleeping in the garage.
    and, as you can see, there is fire in the chimney. Could work there but don't have time for now.
    But, just sitting by the fire, having a beer, sometimes good company, looking at these cars, can't ask for more. Michel

    -Wow factor from people when filling her up

    For me a lot of what I like is sentimental. I grew up riding in Hudsons, usually for special events like weddings, vacations, and meets. The sounds, smells, and sights when riding in a Hudson are dear to me. To top it off, they are beautiful cars that drive incredibly compared to similarly aged vehicles. There was tons of innovation in their products, and quality was second to none.

    I was going to a NW Chapter meet in Oregon in my '48 several years ago (at Jim Harmons, RIP), and was on a very curvey mountain pass road in NW Oregon, going uphill. I was in high gear, going up at the limit of traction (thanks to the awesome torque of the 308), and just having a fine time. I encountered the local Mini-Cooper club, on an outing, coming down the hill at about the same speed as I was going up. They were car guys, and the physical contrast of my Hudson and their Mini's was not lost on them, nor the recognition of the speed I was maintaining up the hill. Fist pumps, high fives and huge grins from each and every one.

    I was proud to be driving a Hudson that day. And REALLY happy not to be driving a Mini!

    Holy Cow! Is that even a real temperature!!?? Where do you live, the North Pole? I'm not even sure I could make it half-way up your driveway without falling down and freezing where I fell.

    I love just about everything about my Hornet. Rides like a dream, straight as an arrow (and I haven't really touch the front end - other than grease and such) and it's quite fun passing people in a rough, 60 year old car like they're standing still. That was with a tired engine with horribly burned valves by the way...

    Now I'm having withdrawals, used to be my daily driver... Pulled the head to spruce things up, but then my money said it had different plans. Weather ain't helping either...

    What you find during restoration which cause bad smells and very hard to find until you dig real deep.

    What area of the car would you like to see pictures of?
    I went out to the garage to install rear assist straps and man was it cold 25f got the job done fast

    That sucks that you lost your hard drive! your 48' looks very similar (condition wise) to my 49' I am in the process of restoring.
    I'd really like to go to San Maeto so I could meet other HET members but I do not know if I will be able to. Got a lot of things going on.

    More shots,mice lived in the head liner so you will see the damage they do over time to the A post.

    Looks like the mice were pretty bad, but the metal was not too shabby, is that about right?

    @48 Sed; I have exactly the same seat....
    @Russell: I don't live in North Pole, just 30 minutes north of....Vermont border!
    The picture was caught on a nice day, you should see it this morning!

    I found these remains in the seat when I took it apart.I found lots of the seat material in the frame which held moisture and caused more trouble.
