Pacemaker windows

I am redoing the window channels on my 1950 Pacemaker coupe. The car was taken apart many years ago and some parts are missing. Was there a small piece of wood under the 1/4 windows as well as on the doors?

Rear quarter windows yes, front vent windows-no.0

You sure thats not backward? I thought there was a small (2" long) piece under the front vent wing to support the window surround,

Roger, I won't say hasen't existed but the vast number I'll stripped out, I don't recall seeing any. Hey this is a Hudson anything is possible factory or not. I't just not been my experience.0

That's what I found as well, although y'all have stripped a lot more cars than I have. And as a sidenote, the HLWYD's and Conv's have a much longer piece of wood under the interior stainless piece at the top of the door.0 -
Well the ones I have found were about rotten ,maybe the leaks from the vent window did them in in short order ? Then again it cant be a real "Crittical" item ,if you were running behind on the line it might get left out? The one under the window should be plenty,

Thanks for the answers guys. I have another question. On the Pacemaker coupes were there window fuzzies on both sides of the glass on the front and rear windows?0

On my Pacemaker sedan, there was a small piece by the front vent window (held in by one screw) and a longer one by the main front windows (held in with two screws). The ones in the rear door windows are considerably longer than the main front window ones.0

As stated above they have a slight taper to them to match the window Garnish molding. Dont mount backward molding wont fit right,

Roger you're right about mounting them backwards.I always wondered what the heck these pieces of wood exactly did. lol You could easily do without them. It must have been for a preception of strengthening of the window garnish trim but I've always found them to be kind of an unnecessary part. Really don't think it much matters one way or another. My 2 cents.0

I think they are intended to keep the molding from pulling on the mounting screws when weight is put on trim (your arm). Hence the possibility of not having them on the vent window area on some cars . If left out that is for sure a spot with no "Arm Presure".
