Met a HET American couple today In Australia.
To-day 26th January, we in Australia celebrate "Australia Day".
On this day evey year we have what is known as the "NRMA Motorfest" where old car folk gather in the city of Sydney with over 1000 cars pre 1976 of all makes and models for a static display, the council block off all the surounding streets and we reverse park to the kerb.
As some of you American's who visited our shore a couple of years ago know it is a great day.
Well, we were sitting with our cars a guy and his wife came up and started talking to us by the name of Scott Swan, he told us he was surprised to see Hudson cars on display. We found out he is a member of the HET club in America and has a 1953 Hudson Hornet and lives in California, he is working in Australia for about 12 months , seeing the Hudson's certainly made his day was his comment.
We hope to see more of Scott and his loverly wife over the next couple of months while they are here in Australia, and have invited them to our next car club run, picking them up in a Hudson, with the steering wheel on the right side of the car which is the opposite to you guys, but then again.I might just pick them up in my 1942 Hudson which is left hand drive just to make them feel at home.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. Pick them up in the RH drive. They'd get a bigger kick out of it, because it's something they don't normally get to experience. They'll still feel at home, so to speak . . . they'll be in a Hudson afterall!

G'Day Bill,
Actually Scott spent 12 months in London before coming to Australia, so he will be away for 2 years all up, he says he misses his 53, no problem with the hospitality, love meeting you guys when you visit.
Wayne Flicker from Here wishes to be remembered to you, as do all the other HET nuts.
