Those were the golden years - then the "Make American Beautiful" crowd moved in, force the great junk yards to close and what replaced them??? Housing developments. Not a whole lot of improvement that.

I remember in the mid 50's of checking out old back yard buildings and finding old cars in them. A lot of times they ended up there as a result of men going off to war in the 40's and never returning. Most were in good shape and could be purchased for $25 or $50. Bagged a few classics back in those days....0

I selected those because there's a Hudson in each photo. There were more of other
brands . Neat old photos . I remember a Yard like the one that has the 40 sitting in front of it.
You had to take off your own part. Many parts got tossed over the fence ( not me )0 -
