Doc's Apple Blossom meet

I assume you are talking about "Doc's Apple Blossom Meet" in Front Royal? Off the top of my head I'd say 15-25 vendors, number of cars varies wildly from year to year (we've been as high as 70 but maybe 25-35 cars in recent years. Maybe 100+ people at the banquet and carry-in dinner. This year, of course, it's been designated the Eastern Region Meet of the H-E-T, so should be larger. The flyer is in the latest WTN, or click HERE:
cbc.hetclub.org/images/CBC_Events/2013DocsMeetflyer.pdf
Also, if you go to the H-E-T's webpage and check the Events calendar (Regional events) you will see a calendar listing with a link to some details of the meet.
If you meant the AACA "Apple Blossom Meet" which is held the same weekend in Winchester, Va. (a short drive from Front Royal), you can check for information at the website of the Shenandoah Region AACA, at
http://www.sraaca.com/ .
I don't think they have a flyer ready yet, though.
Doc's Meet has almost always been held in conjunction with the Winchester car show (which is much larger), and many Hudsonites enter their Hudsons in the Winchester show, but they must register in advance for that car show.0 -

I'm planning on making it this year for the first time in 16 years. It should be a good meet, but I understand over the last few years attendance has been down. It'll be around the same mileage for me. I wouldn't expect a large swap meet, but expect a good time. For you it will feel like full on summer weather
Front royal is a quaint mountain town which is pretty nice as well.

Paul,Thank you for the compliment. Altho I never won the jelly(Parents traveled 15+ miles more than I did) it was worth the trip of around 1100 miles. lol My friends out here in Iowa thought we were either stupid or brave for driving thos old Hudsons that far straight through with out sleep. They used to look at us a little strange when I told them about the trip. LOL . Seriously, Docs meet was always the highlight of the Hudson meets, even more than the Nationals. I used to look at the trip as an adventure, especially the time we brought the 56 Wasp with that 202 engine. Going up the mountains with that car we had alot of time to view the senery when top speed was 35 MPH with the footfeed clear to the floor. LOL Sorry the meet has gone hill but, in the 60s and 70s it was great.

Anyone else been to this meet in the last couple of years?

(I have but since my chapter helps put it on, I'm not exactly unbiased!)0
-
I went from New Zealand last year. Had a great time with ultra friendly folk. Well worth going for the whole meet. Try to arrive early enough on Fri night to be able to enjoy some socializing.0
-
What would the temps be like that time of year?has the weather been good through the many years it has run?0
-
It's spring! Which means it can be sunny and in the 70's, or wet and in the 60's. The Shenandoah Valley is beautiful no matter what, but we offer no guarantees on weather. Still, this hasn't stopped people from attending for almost 50 years!0
-
I've attended at least 15 times , although not in the last 4 years. There is so much variety
and it's a great area . I can't see how someone going for the first could be disappointed.
The worst weather I can remember was rain and 50 degrees , but not the whole weekend.
If you can't make a national meet ,do this one .
It's changed through the years , the best memories were in Docs sign shop , and the really
old cars would show up.
My wife always considered this her favorite trip and looked forward to it.0 -
I'll be there for sure. And to repeat, it's the East Regional this year, so atttendance and flea market area should be notably larger than recent past. On Saturday, for anyone who's not wild about going to the Winchester AACA meet, the Smithsonian (Udvar-Hazy) aerospace museum is less than and hour's drive on I-66. It's fantastic!0

Does anyone have pictures of any of the past shows, sounds like it was a great show everyone looked forward to attending.0

Park is right! A group of Hudson folks went there the last time the Eastern Regional was in Front Royal. Everyone that went was astounded. If you are even the least bit interested in aviation, it is a worthwhile trip.

And the Udvar-Hazy just added a Space Shuttle to the collection.0

Not to knock against Kennedy Space Center, but standing next to the shuttle at the Hazy center is pretty incredible. I haven't been since the Discovery has been placed there, we visited when the Enterprise was there.

Looking forward to visit Doc's again. Trying to decide if I want to bring the Commodore or bring some fleas to sell.0 -
I am in the market for fleas....of the Hudson turn signal unit type and working vacuum motor for wipers type of fleas.0
-
If I were you I'd look for a NOS unit on Ebay rather than buy a used one at a flea market and send it in to be rebuilt. Last time I sent Fickens my old wiper motor (normal $100 charge for rebuilding) they sent it back saying it had warped and could no longer be rebuilt. At that point I checked Ebay and found a brand new wiper in the box for about $45. When I hooked it up, the effect was as if the car was new! Find your motor's Trico number (mine's SK-25, for example) so you'll know exactly what you're looking for.0

Since we're talking Docs, how about a show of hands from those that are planning to attend?
I plan to be there, hopefully driving to 50 Pacemaker. Will likely have the whole family with me. Worst case I throw some swap parts in the back of my jetta0 -
@Faust: Will be there. Michel0

Depending on job offers and date of move set by the Army, I plan to be there on our way "back home" after the wife's Army retirement ceremony.0
