I always understood that AMC styling was within the AMC Plymouth Road complex in Detroit. Notice how they seemed to have this mock-up hunkered down so it would look low & sleek. Too bad they couldn't have done something about that when they actually designed it. I was at the 1955 dealer anouncement in Detroit. They went so far as to actually have the cars tied down so they would look low like the step-down models did.

I always wondered what Frank Spring thought of that line of cars. I do not see much info on how he felt. I know he was caught up with the Italia at the time. He can't have been happy.0
