'29 Standard Sedan in the estate of the late Herbert Bell. Priced at $18,000. I've worked on and driven this car several times, and it's quite impressive. Starts, runs and drives very nicely. Mr. Bell's family has sold most of the cars, but still has this one, along with a '24 Touring and a '54 Jetliner. Cars are in Gainesville, GA. Contact Herb's grandson, Bryant Dunn. bdunn@mingledorffs.com. Post or send me a PM if questions on the cars.

  • Beautiful '29. Do you have any information about the Jetliner?

H'wood, the Jetliner was one of Herb's favorites. One of two 1954 "leftovers" he bought new in early 1955. It's all optioned up ... Twin-H, Hydramatic, fender skirts, continental kit. Nice looking car, cream and green. The reason his Super Jet eventually had but 1,500 miles on it was that Herb much preferred the up-scale Jetliner. Interior was professionally redone at some point; I believe with original materials. About 60,000 miles on the meter, as I recall. Family is asking $16,000. I'll try to find a pic.

Ken, I'm not aware of Herb's ever owning such a car. He did have an AMC Pacer Wagon.
  • Wow , that brings back memories. I had the twin to that car , same wheels , mirrors , mounts and all . Mine was maroon and red. I drove it to three national meets with no problems.
Toured the track at Indy. I would consider these the high point for Hudson. Not many
standard cars to compare in that era. Thanks for posting.
