It isn't worth what the person is asking ($5500). Can anyone guess the year? It looks 48/9....

'48 or '49 Super Series Brougham (2 Dr) that someone has installed Commodore Tail Lamps on and a pair of 1950 thru 1953 front fender top ornaments too.0
-
That additional grill cut into the hood is certainly. . . interesting.
Is the red hardtop behind it a Hollywood? Or some other early 50's GM, possibly?0 -
The red one in the back looks like a HLWYD to me.
One of these days I'd like to find a 2DR Brougham in about this shape and turn it into a '52 Hornet. I'm not even sure this one is worth even half of what they are asking.0 -
Russell, did Hudson make in 52 Broughams Hornets? Or was that one car never produced?
That Brougham is probably worth ~ 1250-1750 (Depending on the condition of the floor).0 -
No Brougham Hornets ever, methinks- maybe '54, they did some strange things in the "final days".

Ah, I see. Thanks Mike.
Russell - that would be pretty cool see.0 -
No, Mike is right. Hudson did make the '54 Hornet Special (a stripped-down Hornet), which was available in the newly-named 2DR Club Sedan (same as a Brougham or 2DR Sedan, which were former names). But, a full blown Hornet in the 2DR Sedan was not made.
In '51-'53(4), four body styles were available in the Hornet line: Convertible, HLWYD, Club Coupe and Sedan.
I just thought it would be cool to "make" a '52 Hornet 2DR Sedan and someday have all "5" models for '52. I currently have a sedan and a convertible and have a pretty good opportunity at a HLWYD.
I think the look of that long roof line like on the sedan and the 2DR Sedan is hard to beat and the 2DR model is way cooler than a 4DR.
. . . the car Hudson shoulda' made: the HORNET 2DR Sedan!0 -
The red car beside it could be a 54 HLWYD.0
-
the holes in the hood might have been an crude attempt to bring more air to the carbs since looks like choke butterflys were removed(?) Broughams are rare, but setting in the ground probably ate the floorpans...

I'd like to find a 49 Brougham myself (its on my wishlist along side a Commodore 6 Club Coupe) to restore back to stock. But just like any other classic they come in all conditions and I've seen two Comm 6 listed (one in the condition I wanted but it sold) and one brougham is alright condition but I did not inquire when I should have. It was a bit out of the way.0
