Hydramatic Tranny - Cheap!
The Hydramatic from my '51 Hornet was rebuilt by Bill Albright about 10 years ago, probably has only 3-4k miles on it.
However, it locked up on me a year or so ago, and I decided to replace it with a manual O/D
Ever since, the Hydramatic has been sitting safely in my garage, looking for a new owner. This isn't some old crusty rusty anchor that's been sitting out in a field, but nice and clean. It clearly will need disassembly to find out what went wrong and possible parts replacement. The torque converter is there too.
I'd sure like to pass it along to a new owner who could make use of it. Surely some value as spare parts if nothing else.
I'm in Austin, TX. Make me any reasonable offer I can't refuse!

Just noticed a B&M Hydra-Matic drag racing transmission for Hudson on ebay; I wonder how it would perform in a stock, street car.
I'm building a 308 stocker motor for my next project and would like to go automatic.0 -
I understand that was a popular combo in the past . Of ccourse other companies had the same unit avaiable to them. I dont think you can tear one up real easy , it doesnt even require a cooling system ,

It appears to the the transmission that was in Sloane McCauley's drag race car, the 54 Hudson Jet, dual national record-holding drag racing terror of the South.
