problem with brake job

I am doing a brake job on a 46 super six coupe. I got the brake cylinders from Dave Kostansek-Williamsfield Ohio and the hydralic hoses from Kanter. On the front brakes the brake cylinder hole is to steep and I cannot get the hose on past the kingpin. The fitting on the hose is one size larger than the original and it hits into the kingpin........any suggestions would certainly help. Thanks JR new guy

It's been awhile since I've worked on my '37, but isn't it possible to mount the wheel cylinder in one of two ways (with the threaded hole for the hose either toward the front, or the rear)? If that's so, is it possible to reverse the mounting so the hole is away from the kingpin? Just a thought.

Also, it seems to me that I ruined a couple cylinders by overtightening the fittings, before I realized that there was a brass sleeve that had to be inserted into the hole before tightening the fitting. This fitting compresses and forms a good seal, I guess. I can't recall whether this was just on the rear cylinders or on the fronts as well. I don't know if these brass sleeves were unique to that brand of wheel cylinder or are a common item.
