I've had this model for at least 25 years, haven't seen any for sale since ????? & have a person interested in buying mine &* was hoping I could get some guidance as to what to ask for it - it is not warped or anything, I've been very careful with it knowing the fragility - anyone know what one in this condition is worth?image

  • the front section, which lifts off to display the chassis (as you know if you're familiar with them) doesn't fit up real tight, not due to damageimage
  • Ive seen those sell on Ebay for several Hundred dollars. Been awhile since one has been on there seems like $800.00 or so

  • TY Roger - if I don't sell to local buyer will bring it to San Mateo as will not ship it, same with my dealer's clock which I will be showing him later this month.image
  • I just looked on Ebay and found one that sold for $442.00 . But he didnt know it was a factory model and just said it had no makers mark. Also it had a missing hubcap and one wheel was loose . As well as some cracks in the plastic,

  • thanks again Roger as I don't look for stuff on eBay - of course they are rather crude but were never intended to be sold anyway as many were given away by dealers to prospective buyers - being plastic also makes them prone to damage esp. if get hot, will warp, but I've always thought them interesting because the factory made them rather than toy makers - I also have one of the little metal English-made "Dinky Toys" Hudson sedans
  • I once found an English-made metal toy model of the '36-7 Railton sportman's coupe' in a toy store in England & as I had that exact Railton at the time bought it however have seemingly lost it! It was expensive as considered quite rare, even there (never seen one here in U.S.) & as am cleaning out my house up in Prescott maybe it will show up.
  • In case you've never seen this factory photo before.image
