ESSEX OWNER'S BEWARE!
Currently on Ebay is a 1929 Essex Steering Wheel hub, advertised as suitable for a driver or ratrod. This is a perfect example of why all 1928 and 1929 Essex and Hudson should have a new one of these. Take a look at the rotten potmetal just waiting to crumble when you hit a big hole in the road! Even those that look good should be replaced. This stuff is dynamite waiting to explode.

Gary Lynch (QNFC Chapter's president) sells a 1929 Essex reproduction of the Steering Hub.

What a dreadful piece of work!! Looks like something from the worst car in the world not one of our fine cars.0

It sure does. The handbrake handle on my '36 H8 snapped off recently when I hauled on it!0

Worth 10 cents maybe. From the looks of it it probably wouldn't survive the trip from seller to new owner.

I get new ones made out of solid aluminium. The machine shop have the pattern entered in their CNC lathe, so I can just order them . This is for '28-'29 Hudson. the '29 hudsons also had a pot metal steering column bracket, and this should also be replaced. I get these cast in bronze.
