Just in case anyone's looking for these rare pieces, there are some in Virginia on Craigslist:

Everything's outrageously expensive these days, but those do look nice- and I guess I'd rather pay $500 for that set than $250 for that battery filler thingee further down the page- or $700 for the windshield washer (!!). Or better yet, buy a "potluck" box of WA1 carbs for 5 bucks at a swap meet- that's more my style.
  • WOW! Maybe I need to increase my prices......LOL
  • Dispite all this folks keep building their car???? every thing has doubled in the last 20 years but my pay?
  • I'm with you, Mike. That's silly. I'll give him a buck-fifty right now, and that's about the max.
  • That's why we stick together. We're proud to know somebody can finish his car because he could afford one of our parts...That's the real Hudson way to go... Michel
  • I agree, I am old, I can remember when you could do a very nice restoration for ten grand. Lucky if that will cover the engine and paint today.
  • First car I restored (frame-on) back in 1995-1996 cost me $900 for the car and I put about $5,000 into it sold it for $10,000. Today if I did that same restoration I'd be losing money. We have it the worst here on the east coast where we're expected to feel lucky if we get to buy a hulking rusted piece of scrap for under $3000. I'm really happy with my Hudson (5 days days into ownership) and it looks like the parts are relatively inexpensive (especially considering the rarity of the marque!)
  • In the 80's there was the $2000 gauge--$2000 for engine/mechanical, $2000 for
body and paint, $2000 for chrome and interior. It's escalated quickly
  • I can't fathom doing doing a real restoration for 5,000.00 - even in 1995.
  • $500 IS CRAZY AND THERE OIL BATH I'M THINKIN $100 + SIPPING MAX
  • Definitely escalated! I did all the work myself other than the paint. Started with a low-mile (57,000mi) car that was missing nothing at all and had all options, no rust, just a couple door dings. Can't even find those types anymore.....
