8 Cyl Head Stud Placement

I didn't anticipate that the machine shop would remove all the head studs from the 49 eight block. I will be replacing them with new ones 26 short ones and 4 long ones.. Can anyone tell me where the long ones go? Some where in the center Is I remember.. ??

    Hi Dave,
    I have a 49 254 from a 49 Commodore sitting on a part of the chassis. Long studs on the engine are,
    Front to back
    Row 4-Passenger and driver
    Row 5-Center
    Row 8-Center

    Just a reminder, use thread sealer on all the studs.

    Yes, and don't forget to seal the ones on the water jacket!
