Oil seal for the splasher wet clutch

The wet clutch from the splasher engines has three oil seals.

1. The seal from the clutch driving plate assembly on the flywheel.
I make it from thick drawing board paper. ( a good nursery class!? )
2. The big seal on the clutch collar assembly. I was lucky that Barry Sweetman sends me
one from Holden ( a make from Chevrolet in Australia as far as I know )
3. The leather seal inside the clutch collar assembly on the main drive gear.

The last seal was for me the reason to find a better solution.
First take of the clutch throwout bearing. The inside diameter from the clutch collar assembly is 35 mm. I use the metric system, but you can calculate back to inches.
I found a modern oil seal from 25 mm( main drive gear) x 36 mm x 7 mm. MakeEriks : 5107.
On the lathe turn out the clutch collar assembly to 36 mm 5 mm deep.
On the photo’s you can see it. I hope this will work. ( sorry the photo's are rather dark )
Like Frank Sinatra I say : I did it my way !!!
Perhaps other members has better idea’s.

    Why go to that much trouble when they are availble from Doug Wildrick, I have several of his in stock.

    Yes, I heard about Doug Wildrick, he has more parts for the Hudson clutch as far as I know.
    From the Netherlands on it is very expensive just to order a smal part. The shipping costs and the bank costs are rather high. The oil seal where I'am talking about costs less than $ 5.-.
    The turning on the lathe 5 minutes. So for me it is a good solution !!

    That's good information Henk. I've always being able to find a clutch seal when I've needed one, but its good that someone has put thought into an alternative.
