Hudson wiper blades

Is there anything more worthless on a Hudson than the wipers? I just got caught in a major rainstorm and had to drive 25 miles using those OE straight wiper blades. The half of the driver's window that they worked on would have been more useful to the passenger than me. I have an electric wiper that I got from the guy in OK that took over Clay Hannah's business and it worked fine, it's just that those blades don't contour to the curved windshield in the right places. Surely somebody out there has figured out a better mousetrap than what Hudson came up with in 1948. Has anyone used an Anco wiper that appears to have more tension?

I have ANCO articulated blades on my 52 (Trico makes them that fit better, but more expensive). Had to futz with the ANCO's (from RockAuto) to fit right but they work.

I have a NOS set of Anco 10" . I'll sell 'em for five dollars + shipping. Also have 11" for 54s. I was bringing them to San Mateo. Ron, rsotardi@yahoo.com

I've heard that the spring tension on Hudson wipers can be lacking, and by drilling another hole you can make the spring create a higher downforce against the glass improving wiper function, but I bet this needs to be done very carefully- don't want too tight, either.
