can someone tell me how to remove spindles/kingpins from 30 hudson axle

i have this 30 hudson front end i bought last year and will be starting on my 27 essex soon and want to use it. can anyone tell me how remove kingpins out of the axle. i see a location where a key may be but i don't know if it is just driven out or what? i already have the bracket to tie rod removed.
i just can't stand the thought of using a ford axle like so many do. i know this hudson axle springs are a little wider than the essex was but i still may try to use it if i can find a spindle/ kingpin/ drum combo that will work.

    There is, believe it or not, a 1930-1933 Hudson service manual in the online library. (See 2nd URL below my signature.) The answer to your query maybe there.

    This manual has no illustrations, but refers to parts books - which are also in the online library.

    thank you Mr Burr. i did get it figured out. i had to drill a hole all the way thru the key holding the king pin in place to get it to drive out.

    Probably for the better, hoggyrubber. I was looking at that manual and there really isn't any mention of kingpins and how to remove same. Guess they didn't rust out back in those days.

    i read thru several of them and i think they actually did say how, but i wasn't sure of the named part locations. i had a little trouble finding the diagrams of part names in the parts books. i think a lot of these older manuals kind of asume you know a little about something, which i don't. :)) thank you again, stacy k

    That won't be applicable to the '30 model, unfortunately.

    question did the "Key" have a nut on it ?

    no it did not have a nut. i noticed one end of the key had a flat section and i figured it went thru the keyway in the spindle like on the later model kingpins. the first one i hammered and hammered on till it deformed the end of key. i them went to the other side and carefullt drilled a hole all the way thru and that let it free up to be driven back out. i then went back to first side and drilled and it worked too. i can take a picture of key if it would help, let me know.
