Twin H manifolds vs single

This might sound like a dumb question,
but is the exhaust manifold on the twin H set, up the same one as on the single set up? I have never looked, since all my twin H sets were together all the time. I have one twin set left with major cracks in the exhaust part and a minor one in the intake part. Maybe I can just pitch the exhaust part if they can interchange.
And where can I get new gaskets for the split area. Thanks, Bobby

Bobby, the exhaust manifold for the '52 thru '54 is the same for the two barrel carb and the twin-H intake. I don't beleive the '55 & '56 manifolds are interchangable wiith the earlier units. Therefore, it is necessary to know which twin-H intake you have and then you can go from there. 53jetman0

I have several 51 and older ones. And I am not sure what the cracked one is from I have had it forever because of the cracks. I guess the only way is to get out the Kroil rust buster and dismantle it and compare with the loose singles I have. It looks the same all put together but [looks] can mess with a guys head., as they say!!0

You just have to drill another hole for choke tube to use with twin H. Gaskets are available from Dale Cooper0 -
Thanks David. I will call Coop. And are you, or anyone, aware of much success with welding manifold cracks along and around the bolt holes?0

Bobby, The studs are longer for the twin H setup, and you need to bore out the second manifold to carb heater on a twin H . The boss is there you just need to drill it out. Good luck.0

Doug Wildrick has friend who did an excellent job repairing broken ears on 7X exhaust manifold for me. It looks like new and you can't even see where weld was made. e mail Doug Wildrick0 -
Thanks again Dave. I "E"mailed Doug. I hope It can be salvaged and I can put it on my 51 Pacemaker 2 dr. sed.. I have a 308 in there now with a 262 head on it that was rebuilt by Senior member Marvin Snyder, in jis 80's now, in Ames Iowa. It purs like a kitten. I imagine the twin H, in front of a stick with O.D. will be just the right combo for ultimate performance. I will send the carbs out the the Carb guys in the WTN as well, leaving the finishing touches to the professionals. Should be a great conversation piece at our MSRA "Back to the 50's" weekend in MN this Father's Day. 10,000+ cars, all under 1964 and many Hudsons there representing the coolest led sled of its day. Of course I never would make a Street Rod out of one, but there are a few Essex's and maybe one stepdown that have been altered to become street candy. Take care, Bob0
