  • Comm6, love the paint work on your car. I did a 50 in this pattern. Hatted to sell it....
I used the 2012 Camaro Red (Prismatic Metalic) and the 2012 Cadillac White (metallic and Pearl).
Remains one of my favorite paint jobs to this day....

Also, you can take a good grade of epoxy filler and patch the cracks and gaps in your wheel and then paint it. I recently did this with my 54 Wheel.
  • BROWNIE NICE JOB ON THE WHEEL IT LOOKS REAL NICE WHERE DOD YOU GET THE MOLD FOR THE WHEEL AT ?
  • Thanks for the input... I have an Eastwood repair kit any pointers on how to do it Brownie, urs looks very nice both steering wheel and ur car. The colors I went with are Garnet red GM color solid no metallic and Harvest moon Volkswagen color again solid no metallics or pearls. I am almost done on my resto..
  • My steering wheel has seen better days im missing a big chunk off mine do not know if that is even repairable with the kit I have.
  • From my experience, that one is not worth repairing with Epoxy. It really needs to be recast. The epoxy works best with the normal shrinkage cracks and gaps up to about 1/4" or so.
  • Heres my new, old wheel. Got it off a 54 parts car. Watched UTube on how to do it. KS Epoxy. Gaps more than 1/4" don't recommend tackling it.
  • I am with Russell on this wheel. Mine had some cracks and one 1/8 inch shrink crack and I used epoxy on it. Yours would not work that way. I would go with a recast or replacement.
  • Kinda sucks because it was not that bad but just deteriorated when it was at the shop and car was not running till a few months ago this was the steering wheel before
  • Comm6-

Yep, it does suck! But, for what little consolation it might be, if it hadn't done it at the shop, it would have done it once you really started handling it (by driving it, that is), and you would have to address the problem sooner or later.
  • Comm6,
Quick question what year is the GM Garnet Red you used?

    Thanks,
    Larry
