Which years are each of these covers for? I have a set, both of them have the same cover as the left one has.

Kerry, Right side is for 55-56. Left is for 52-54.

Thanks, that is what I suspected but didn't know for sure.

I believe I have the 55-56 Twin H set-up on my '53 Super Wasp. This is the one that takes the paper filters and it even has a decal on each filter unit telling which Fram air filter to use. At the bottom of each decal it reads, "Hudson Motor Car Company" and no mention of American Motors.

Consequently, I'm curious if these paper filter Twin H units could have been available as an option or upgrade before Hudson and Nash's merger.

  • The manifold itself is not 1955-56 you can tell by the exposed equalizer pipe on passenger side.
  • Thanks, Roger, for pointing that out about the equalizer pipe.

Later 54's (after the merger) somewhere around Sept-Oct. used the second series filters with a decal that had "American Motors" on them. The manifolds remained the original design.
