Steam boat dropped mine off yesterday also. Guess that pretty much covers the country, don't it. :D

I dropped Sam a note about the picture of the Hudson with the Corsair - in case those of you a tad familiar with the breed, yes, it's an F4U, but the designation, FG-1D, means it was built by none other than Goodyear.

Re: The Corsair. This museum's copy is a Goodyear, hence the FG designation. They talked about the Corsair and that the more 'famous' one's (and first one's) were the F4U's made by Vought as well as others made by Brewster (F3A). Demand exceeded what Vought could handle, hence Goodyear and Brewster joining in.

Last year they had their P-51 and P-40 out for a choice. But it was raining and didn't make for quite the picture opportunity.

Thanks for putting it on the back cover Sam. My dad gets his copy regular mail. I'm not saying a word. He'll find out when he gets his in the mail.

Wonder how many other manufacturers made stuff during the war they wouldn't have done normally. For example Hudson made aircraft pars and guns. When I was in the Coast Guard I was stationed on a 110 foot tug built during WWII (this was in the '60s) which was powered by a diesel-electric plant. The engines were (2) 8 cylinder diesels built by Ingersol-Rand. And some of the radio gear used components that were the same as Hudson car radios. But that wouldn't be uncommon, probably. I mean a condensor is a condensor and a tube is a tube.

Got mine in Compton, Québec! Nice report from the Compton meet! My guests Paul and Sarah
who drove 700 miles from Ontario will be happy to see their pictures on the back cover. That Hudson is a very good driver. I met them for the first time in Virginia for the Eastern Regional and invited them to my meet. They came with no problem back and forth. Thanks Sam and Mary Ann! Michel

Paul is, I do not know if Sarah is, looking for a good looking good running 46 or 47 PU. I know my wife wasn't when I got my first, but mine was neither good looking or running after off and on 20 years of looking. It was the only one I saw for sale until I found out about the Hudson club. I put Paul onto a couple good looking good running PUs in Calif. for sale.

    Waiting for my WTN fix.
