Probably went to a Rat Rodder. Will drop a SBC (or maybe a BBC) in it and tub the rear w/ Ford 9" or Dana 60, and headers w/ outside pipes down the side. Wow what a picture!0
-
I hope not!0
-
Don't forget the flat black rattle-can paint job!
Ooh, and the mexican blanket seat covers, too!0 -
I did forget the hole in the hood for the blower scoop, and the really wide white walls. Those mexican blanket seat covers really do add a special touch though. Wonder what Frank Spring might think?0

nLIELS, WHERE WAS ILT AND WERE DID IT GO, BILL ALBRIGHT0
-
Bill, Were the in the world did you learn how to type?!!!0
-
Niels, was the car in southern CA, perhaps the Thousand Oaks area west of L.A.?0
-
Niels,
Where did you see that ? I have not seen anything like that ?0 -
There were 26 Italias made if you include the X-161 and I think 5-6 are totally unaccounted for by the HET club. It would be wonderful if that was one of the 6 MIAs but we have no way of knowing unless one of us actually sees the car.0

Park,
That was it... Thousand Oaks area. You know anything about this car? I e-mailed the ad a couple times to see if it was still available with no response. There is no phone number or address so I couldn't call. The online ad had been edited to say it was sold. The ad stated that this person's Grandfather had passed away and it had been sitting in his garage for 30 years awaiting him to restore it. It gave very few details. If I get some sort of response then I will try to find out who bought it. Niels0 -
i LEARNED TO TYPE 50 YEARS AGO ON AN OLD rEMINGTON, THAN YOU COULD REST YOUR FINGERS ON THE KEYS WITHOUT THE LETTERS FLYING ON THE PAPER. SORRY BUT MY MIND GOES FASTER THAN THE FINGERS AND THE TWO DONT WEORK TOGETHER LOL SORRY DsAS LONG AS PEOPLE GET THE MESSAGE, THAT IS ALL THAT IS IMPORTANT, I AM NOT MUCH FOR PROOFREADING AND CORRECTING TYPE, HAVE HUDSONS TO BUILD0

Niels, it's almost got to be the one I saw last August at the home of noted collector and former big-time CA Hudnut Fred Roth. Fred has long owned a beautifully restored Italia, but told me he'd recently bought this second one from the widow of the previous owner, I believe in Arizona. It was a darned decent car considering it was unrestored. He said he bought it mainly to help ensure it ended up in the hands of a good owner and didn't get modified, etc. Guess he found one.0

I think I'LL CRY if I missed this or a actual intact Italia for $15,000.... Niels0

No $hit Niels, I would trade my 17 year old daughter for one
of these in this shape!

if only someone could pull a fiberglass mold from one of the orginals.
With only 26 built it would be nice to see a hand full more bodies
available.
I would love to have the option of using one for a tube chassis drag
car (308 Hornet Powered no less) but no way would I cut up one of
the orginals.
Or even a nice reproduction of what Hudson did would be cool.
Too bad there isn't one already available.

Bill,
I tried using that correcting fluid for awhile, but pretty soon my monitor had so many white spots on it I could barely read anything.0 -
Fred Roth was a charter member of the SoCal Chapter (1966). I met him in an Oxnard radiator shop 12 yrs ago - he was kind enough to give me a much needed stepdown gas tank, as long as I promised not to modify my Super 6.

spoke to FRED ROTH, YESTERDAY VIA LANDLINE, HE IS ALIVE AND WELL AND HAS NOT SOLD EITHER OF HIS ITALIAS, I THINK THIS IS A BOGUS STORY, AT LEAST LI WILL MAINTAIN THAT UNTIL PROOF OTHERWISE, BILL ALBRIGHT, INVITED FRED TO THE WESTERN REGIONAL IN JUNE, HE MAY COME BILL ALBRIGHT0

What would it take to mold a body in fiberglass ? is it an involved expensive process ? I'd mold it exactly except maybe with the 6 rear taillight pipes deleted. LOL0
