Hudson Dash Clock

I think I recall hearing that the Jet clocks are difficult to come by. But, some Jet expert will jump in here and straighten me out...

Jet clocks are impossible to find. I have heard of a number of people who have used a clock from an AMC product, but I don't know which one. There was an AMC clock in my jet when I bought it.

I'm learning that quickly... lol.

If you are looking for an identical match to Jet clock, get a mid 60's AMC Rambler Classic clock. Only difference is color of hands and you can pant them white if you want perfect match.0

John, Ken and I installed the clock in your new Jet and that is what we used.0

Great, thanks. I'll look for one. I'm guessing I'll need to find a new surround for the clock? Or cut the delete plate that I have on the dash now.

THERE IS ONE ON EBAY NOW0

Is it the windup clock listed here?

If so, I'd need to find a lens for it. Are they difficult to track down?
If this isn't the clock you were referring to, can you send the link?
THANKS!!

That clock is for the senior series Hudson - '54 & '55 Hornet & Wasp

I'm thinking the clock they are talking about is something like this--Seems like this would fit in the space in my Jet.0
-
Yes, that is the same clock I have in my Jet. Not quite the same as original, but beggars can't be choosers.0
-
Very similar to the original Jet clock, except the original comes with a plate that flows into the design of the trim on the Jet dash.

The AMC clocks, after the 55s, are 12 volt. The Jet was 6v. Be guided accordingly.0

The 12v clock works fine in my Jet. The only difference it clicks about every seconds instead of 40 seconds as it would with 12v. These clocks are a mechanical movement, but instead of being wound up there is a solenoid and a set of points which energise this, which then flips back on a ratchet, expanding a small spring which provides the energy to work the clock. be aware that if your car is in storage for a long time that this small amount of energy will be taken from the battery, so it does pay to have a voltage booster. I have these on all my cars, just a small transformer that puts about 100 m/amps in constantly, just enough to keep the battery up to full voltage and prevent the plates from sulphating.0

Oops, fingers going slower than brain. The clock flips every 20 seconds on 6 volts.0
