    I thought that the first Hudson came off the line July 3, 1909 - Wikipedia says the company quickly started production, with the first car driven out of a small factory in Detroit on July 3, 1909.

    However, the Old Cars Catalog of Independent Cars does say July 8th.  Patrick Fosters Hudson history also says July 8, but notes another source says July 3rd.
