They won't let this 1950 WASP RIP

So there was a guy in the next town over who was going to make his millions by collecting steel and selling it during World War 3 because all the steel would be going to the war effort and there won't be any available - that supply and demand thing. Anyway the new owner of the property has 4 million pounds of steel he's scrapping. I walked the site this past weekend and this was the only HET car on the site. All 600 of the cars pre-date 1970. 598 were not worth restoring. So if anyone needs something off of a 1950 WASP ask me now and I'll try to grab it for you before they haul this one away to Hudson-Heaven.

I must have been the first one to open the door in over 30 years.

They didn't. If you look on the front door it looks like 52 trim.

I could use both of the 1 foot long Headliner retainer strips that run along side the windshield pillar just in front of the vent wings.

I addition to the headliner retainer strips, I am also in need of a stainless headlight retainer ring, and a headlight foot dimmer switch. If the parts are usable, I am sure we can work out a price.

    Thanks,

Aint we Hudnuts the cream of the old iron vultures. Someone beat me to the twin H but after all those years, most likely all there is, is RUST under the hood. Good luck guys. And bring your tools and some rust busting KROIL.
  • I was surprised by how many decent engines I saw - don't be surprised if its decent - hood was closed all those years. The guy drove almost all of the cars into the yard - think it will turn?

I'm looking for one of those turn signal lights that snap into the dash board to the left of the instruments. Should just snap out with a pen knife blade? I don't have one to look at,but I don't think they are tough to remove. Thanks Dave W

My Cell Phone number is 512-635-8974, if there is a twin H under there. Get the head too if it happens to be

AL. I think you should at least get a good meal out of your trouble though.....
  • Since we are talking parts, anyone need a 51 Automatic transmission, the person I got it from said he drove it up and down the driveway and it worked fine. It is free except for the cost of shipping.....
  • While reading this post I remembered that the we have the following Wasp emblem.
We have a few other parts that may work for the Wasp and just don't know it. Check out the store.

  • sorry it did not have the overdrive
  • not the twin H
  • it was gone!
  • was not there - sorry
  • score on the stainless and a few other odds and ends - I sent you an email - forgot to mention I also found the only hub cap in the trunk and you also get that.
  • I need some trim pieces for my '52 Wasp (as far as I know it's all the same). I don't know what's good on the car, but I need grill ceneter piece, the trim under both rear triangular windows and the back window, the passenger side trim down the side of the car from the rear door back, the drivers side chrome piece at the end (back) of the trim on the side of the car, a rear bumper (that's a big one), the piece that is mounted above the rear bumper from tailight to tailight, etc. That's probably a very vague description. I tried to send pictures of the car but it said it was too large. So if you would like to see some pictures to give you an idea of what I need, email me back at neilish@u.washington.edu. That way I can send them to your normal email address. By the way, where is the car located (state)?
  • Thanks for looking!
