Stepdown Floor Pans Pics?

Hey there,

Anyone have any good pics of newly welded in floor pans for a Hudson stepdown?  I am going to be fixing some that someone else did recently and would like to check out some good pics if anyone has any.  Of course, it would be helpful if the pics were before the new undercoating has been applied so I can see the welds.

Thanks in advance!

What is the consensus on the commercially available Step-Down floor pan repair panels?  (I assume that just one company is supplying these, and I've forgotten the name).

My understanding was that they are not an exact match but can fairly easily "be made to fit".  Is that true?  Is it true for the late 30's-1947 repair panels as well?

Whomever might be interested.  My floor pans are now 7/8" thick. Not 1/8.  They were somewhat rusted, but had a few holes.   1/2 inch fiberglass mat front and back, allowing for trans hole, and brake cyliinder.  Then about 2 gallons of Fiberglass Resin brushed into the mat.  A two person job.  If I had it to do over I would  use Epoxy Resin.  It's easier to determine the kick off time.  Let it set for 24 hrs, and you talk about strong.

Stepdown front pans are available from three sources. The following is a link to Russell Chilton's blog on his restoration including pictures of installation of front pans. Bent Metal provided the pans in this blog.

    Another source is Christopher Spelic

Go to my website and select...  parts internet links  to connect to Chris or Perry Spring to find out more about their panels.  Also check out the Body Work and Trim and Frame Repair to see the panels installed
