There was a recent post showing an old picture of the Gas - Per - Mile Gauge J750 and I was wondering if anyone had seen one or tested it.

Is this the one? I saved the picture for some unknown reason.

Dave , that looks like a vacuum gauge. " Mile Master" had a similar one. The trick was to keep the vacuum at the highest reading + best mileage

No SuperDave. The picture I saw looked like a calibrated jar. Probably had a measured amount of fuel with a hose to carb with a shut off valve. Possibly drive until the engine runs out of fuel,,read mileage, and that would give you the MPG.

I think I remember seeing something about that several years ago. I think the jar attached tom the passenger side window . Been several years ago.

Maybe similar to this one. Measures 1/10 of a gallon, opening the valve on top makes it stop pulling from the tank? Multiply by 10 for miles per gallon.

The one Super Dave is talking about above was a promotion used to promote the high MPG ability of the Jet Series.  According to my Father, they also used this type of promotion back in the 1930's to promote the economy of the Terraplane and the 112 series.
