K, do you have the info on the shift lever shaft seal? Holler if not.0

I guess not, Park. What am I missing?0 -
First, please confirm for my old brain what you're working on. "48-'51? Sorry I can't see enough of the left side to tell for sure.

OK ... I was waiting to hear what year
tranny it is.On the main tranny, there's a small seal on the shaft for
the shift lever. As I recall not too
difficult to remove, though I seem to remember you have to knock out the
tapered pin that keeps the shaft in place.
Service manual will confirm That
seal is noted as item K7-3 in the parts book.
There's an identical seal on the overdrive too, for the lockout lever
shaft, AKA "overdrive control shaft."
It's ID'd as item K9-28 in the parts book. NAPA 6125 is a good number for this seal.Just didn't want you to go through the whole process and
end up with oil leakage from these shafts!

Mucho thanks Park. I've got a gasket kit coming, I'll make sure I look for those seals...k0
